A.  A sports program activity sponsored by Girl Scouts – AZ Cactus-Pine Council, which provides a network for girls to learn to play golf, build friendships and sample competition in a fun environment.

Q. Who can join the GSGC?

A. Any girl between the ages of 9-17.

Q. What’s the purpose of the Golf program?

A. Girl Scout Golf has three components where girls learn the importance of sports to their health and overall personal success in life. The council offers golf activities in the following ways:

  • Golf camps- Held during the summer at resident camp, girls learn the fundamentals of full swing, chipping, putting, and on the fourth day participate in a scramble.
  • On-going education-clinics and workshops offered to groups and individual members throughout the state. Also offered in this area are specialized sessions on running golf tournaments and more specialized training for girls who want to play on school-sponsored teams.
  • Outreach clinics-offered to girls new to Girl Scouting or in special situations, which may make it hard to participate or be exposed to the game of golf.

Q. What kinds of activities are offered?

A.  We offer year-round activities, some of them theme related such as dad & daughter clinics, Back to school scrambles, Behind the scenes events at the LPGA Standard Register Ping Invitational and residential golf camps held every summer at Willow Springs Program Center in Prescott, AZ
