It's a wrap on choosing a gift for your golfer.

Gift Certificates

x

Hello golfers!  Need a great gift idea for your golfer for the holidays?

My gift certificates are a perfect gift for any golfer for the holidays.  My certificates have been used for birthday gifts, special birthday celebrations have arranged for a one day golf school, a family outing day. One of the most fun times was a reunion weekend of sisters who flew in from different areas of the country; we did a one day golf school and had a terrific time.  My video work within my lessons create a personal training plan.

Think about it, golf training . .  as the cliché goes . .  it's the gift that keeps on giving!

Life on the Range
x

I spend about half of my training time on the driving range. I observe driving range Penny Pulz Golfhundreds of golfers practice their golf swing. Did you know that your swing is always slightly changing from 'swing-to-target'  to 'not-swing-to-target'?  And also . . from 'super coordination with the swinging club head' to 'cumbersome-clunky where is the club head feeling out of sync' swing?

What I want to share with you are some simple drills to keep your swing in good shape with consistent power for effective pin shootin’ and club selectin’ on the golf course.

  1. Text Box:
Alignment.
First, determine if you don't already know, which is the weakest side of your sight, your left or right. This drill will tell you.  Aim at different flags starting with straight and then randaim at target, down the lineomly choosing left and right pins. Once you have addressed the ball, place your club down on your toe line, while holding your club firmly in place, walk around to the back of the ball and check out your foot aim line from directly behind the ball. You will quickly determine which is your weak side for aim.

I have a difficult time aiming left. Every one struggles with one side or the other in aim. My routine for left aim is a little more exaggerated. When I am behind the ball seeing my imaginary line to target, I use my club as a pointer and draw the line to the target. I spend a couple extra seconds to visualize clearly to target before I continue with the rest of my routine. When you are struggling with aim in any direction, check your chatty head and notice if you are staying in the present. To see the simple clearly, your target line, you must be in the moment.
aim at target drill, Penny Pulz Golf

  1. Working on your correct swing path.
Place a club down aimed at the target between your foot line and the ball. Now you can easily see whether the club head is swinging straight back the first foot or so of the backswing. When you get the club swinging along the target line initially, your chances of swinging the club to the target through impact increase dramatically.

  2. Practice your swing power.
Which goes faster, your leg speed or club-head speed?  Answer?  The club-head.  Hit some balls with restricted leg action. Haul off swinging your arms and release your spring loaded hands and wrists with a tossing action through the ball with as much velocity as you can. Maintain your balance.  You will be amazed at how far the ball goes while you still have maintained restricted leg action.

When I am gearing up my swing for my yearly golf tournament I do this drill with a wedge first to attain my wedge distance and then move on through the rest my clubs.  I take it easy at first. All that tossing tires my hands and arms very quickly. When I am grunting too much, I know I am using my belly for extra 'umph' power (which causes the dreaded slice) and I am not using my speedy swinging arms, hands, flying shaft and club-head whistling through the ball like a cannon ball on a magic elastic steel shaft to hurl my golf ball at a mighty speed.

  3. Tempo.
Feeling like you just aren’t synchronizing or timing your swing very comfortably? Hit balls at different swing speeds; ultra slow-mo, slo-mo, normal, fast and super fast. After you have hit balls at various speeds, your feel for the right speed will be tuned up again and the timing of your golf shots will be improved dramatically.

Check your aim. Swing in plane to your target with a smooth and strong powerful toss of the club through the ball and your golf shots will fly further and take dead aim at the flagstick.

Good on ya Mate!
